Computerized Tomography scan uses computers & rotating X-ray machines to create cross-sectional images of the body. 3D images can also be obtained in case required.
Preparation
• You may be asked not to eat/drink anything for several hours beforehand, especially if a contrast material has to be used.
• You should wear comfortable, easily changeable clothes on the day of the exam.
• Do not carry excess cash, wear ornaments.
• It is advised to come along with a responsible person/relative for the test.
• Inform the technologist / front desk if you have any history of allergies, any recent illness or medical condition, history of heart disease, asthma, diabetes, kidney disease, and thyroid problem, or any incident that occurred during a previous CT Scan if any.
• Women should inform the technologist if there is any possibility that they are pregnant / breastfeeding.
• Please carry previous medical reports/documents while coming for the test.
